Nominees for FLAG Members-At-Large - Biographical Information

Please vote for one person for each of the four positions or for each position. (The official ballot was mailed to all members on October 13, 2006)

Elementary: Miho Paone

Miho was born and grew up in Japan. She came to the United States to earn her Master's Degree in Foreign Language Education at UGA. She is currently teaching Japanese at Mimosa Elementary School in Fulton County. She said it has been 7 years of joy for her to teach Japanese to elementary students. While teaching, she also tutor students on weekends. Prior to Fulton county, Miho taught Japanese at UGA, Oglethorpe University and Georgia State University.

Middle School: Linda Reineke

Linda is an 8th grade French teacher with twelve years experience in the Cobb County School System. Currently she teaches at Dickerson Middle School in Marietta, but she has also taught at Lost Mountain Middle in Kennesaw. She holds a B.A. in French from Wake Forest University and a MEd. in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. Her students enjoy an active and interactive class full of movement, singing, skits, and projects as she develops a love for the language and their desire to excel.

Secondary: Kimberly Sproul

Kimberly has been teaching Spanish in Decatur County in Southwest Georgia since 1987. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and a Master's degree in Multilingual/Multicultural Education from Florida State University and has done additional coursework in Spain and Mexico. In addition to teaching at Bainbridge High School she has also taught at the local community college, an elementary after school program and various personal enrichment courses for medical and postal personnel.

Secondary: Jaime Claymore

Jaime teaches Latin at Norcross High School in Gwinnett County. She has taught both Latin and Social Studies in Georgia for the past eight years. She is eager to serve as a Member-At-Large to provide Latin teachers another voice in the Foreign Language community as well as to increase the credibility of Latin as a spoken, living language among the modern languages. She has attempted to affect change both in her own community, as a member of GALTA, and on the state level, as a member of the Georgia Assessment for Certified Educators committee, which is currently working with the state and National Evaluation Systems to rewrite the certification tests for all subject areas. She has a passion for learning Latin and all languages, and try to convey that passion in her teaching everyday.

Post Secondary: Elizabeth Combier

Elizabeth currently teaches Spanish at North Georgia College & State University. She has taught Spanish and French at USCA and Clemson University. She holds an M.A. in French (USC) and a Ph.D. in Romance Languages (UGA), and has lived in France and Quebec as well as Mexico. Her areas of specialization include Spanish Golden Age literature and theater. She also supervises student teachers for French and Spanish in the public school system.
